Adventure Sports Injuries
So, what is Sports Massage Therapy?
A Sports Massage Therapist uses a variety of pressure (often deeper, more intense and focussed than a conventional massage) to speed up an athlete’s recovery time and help prevent injury.
Sports Massage Therapy
Level 4 Sports Massage Therapist
Sports Massage Therapists use a variety of techniques. There are four types of sports massages:
- Pre-event sports massage: a short, stimulating massage 15-45 minutes before the event. It is directed toward the parts of the body that will be involved in the exertion.
- Post-event sports massage: given within an hour or two of the event, to normalize the body’s tissues.
- Restorative sports massage: given during training to allow the athlete to train harder and with less injury.
- Rehabilitative sports massage: aimed at alleviating pain due to injury and returning the body to health.
Professional and positive experience
Absolutely amazing and professional experience. I will definitely recommend Ian to my fellow gym mates, family and friends.
Wow! Lovely Massage
Ian was very thorough and found the issues in my back straight away. I was a bit sore afterwards but Ian did warn me that this may be the case. I was also given some specific after care advice and stretches to follow.
Already booked a follow up in 2 weeks time.
Very Good Massage
My tight hamstrings were sorted. I felt a bit sore soon after the massage, but now I feel so much better. Thank you.
Professional treatment, with sound pre assessment and excellent post session advice. Have booked again due to ongoing sports injury. Easy to contact and good access to the clinic.
Great massage. This isn’t a pampering massage! Really sorted out my lower back and shoulder. Would recommend and will be back.
